If you know me, you know that I gave up shooting weddings because that wasn’t where God was leading me in this crazy photography business. I wish I could make boat loads of money doing that, but it is not for me.

Engagements session however?? Umm, sign me up please!

Meet Dan and Alicia.. two of the sweetest people I know. During our session they climbed trees, made silly faces, and we genuinely had a ton of fun. These were shot at the Presidio during that ever so lovely golden light hour.

Just a quick peek at one of my latest sessions. Miss K was a sweet little one to work with.. she was loving my bean bag chair, as most of my newborns do. It must make them feel cozy and safe and secure.. Shoot, now I want one for me.

I love this family’s heart and dedication..

They went to Africa to adopt a daughter..

She is 2 and full of personality. She loves her new brothers dearly, and my heart melted at the way they help take care of Little Miss. When I first met her in March of this year, she wouldn’t even look at me, understandably. Not so with this photo shoot. We smiled, and she played and ran with her brothers. I promised her that if she would show me her beautiful teeth, with a beautiful smile, she would get a lollipop. And she did.

She called it a sweet sweet.. and I about died. I think I will call it that from now on too.

We here at Sarah Tolson Photography only offer one custom portrait sale a year. The fact is, I don’t even like to call it a sale.. Sales are great for clothes, makeup, groceries and the like, but not so much for Custom Photography. I like to think of it as more of a benefit for those who are already faithful clients.

It is only available via email. If you would like the exclusive information, then you need to email me asap. We close our business down for the month of December, so portraits need to be booked before then. Can’t wait to hear from you!!

She turned 2. That brilliant age where independence is needed every waking moment. Where curiousity and questions abound. Where “I can do it!” can be heard at every turn. That is the age of this precious little one.

She, however, wanted to be far from the crazy lady with the camera. She wanted to play with Poppytop (aka Grandpa) and it was a good thing. He was able to get her to smile like I could not, and I was grateful. She ran and she played and in between I snapped her 2 year old portraits. Isn’t that the way it is supposed to be? Capturing her personality in the moment, and not forcing the child to sit and smile. That’s how I operate anyhow.

My husband just informed me of what the song in the title really stands for… I didn’t know. Yep, that is just how sheltered I was. But I am leaving it, but I am still going to believe it was a really good song about a girl named Lucy, and not LSD.. ok!
